The problem is that in the afternoon, when I got to this place with the taxi driver, who entered from a different gate, the face of the sphinx was in the shade. The scaffolding is just a temporary thing. That the chance one takes with archaeological sites that need to be cared for. |

The Sphinx with Khufu's pyramid in the background. Nice, but you can see the problem for the photographer. So be there as early as possible. You notice that a lot of buses get there early and drop the visitors off here. You can also see how close Cairo grew to the Gaza Plateau. |
